The River of Possibilities

I’m rather sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been busy with school and such. But I have a plan to start posting on Mondays. Let’s see if I can stick to that.

Well I must say, the novel River Of Possibilities by Marti Lawrence is a phenomenal book. It sucked me in to the point where it was all I could think about. It’s very well crafted and the story plugs along at a comfortable pace. You really feel everything just as if you were learning along with the main character, Liz.

Elizabeth Cunningham watched her parents applaud and smile as she graduated college. Two months later she watched their caskets being lowered into the ground. Her father recently updated his Will, adding a codicil saying she should “find the truth”. Suspicious of their fatal car crash, she investigates and discovers mysteries, lies and her father’s top-secret connections to the paranormal. - Ebook description of River of Possibilities by Marti Lawrence.

At times it seems that with each page turn a new twist is uncovered and you feel compelled to continue reading to find the truth. This is what great story telling is all about, keeping the reader interested and bringing them along on the journey with you and Marti is certainly not an exception to great story telling. Her characters are very real and they activate you emotionally drawing you into the story and holding you firmly there until the satisfying ending – only UNSATISFYING because the story is OVER.

But, that’s how it goes with all good books. You don’t want the adventure to end and you are sorry when it does especially when the characters are so well fleshed out that you feel as if they could be the girl next door, the girl you know from third period science, or your favorite cousin.

My mom has known Marti for years and I’m hoping to wrangle an interview with this very interesting author!

At any rate, do yourself a favor – with everyone being snowed in across the country, you don’t even have to trip out to the bookstore – you can get a copy of River of Possibilities by Marti Lawrence in ebook version instantly through Smashwords.Com. The perfect reading material to curl up with a cup of hot cocoa and a warm fire on a chilly afternoon.
